Friends/Enemies List
Spam Blackout allows you to enter your friends' email addresses so that emails from them are allowed through. Spam Blackout allows you to enter enemy email addresses so that emails from them are prohibited.
You can also enter Relay Server IP Addresses and Sender Station IP addresses and designate them as a friend or enemy.
Spammers List i.e. Internet Blacklist (ORDB)
Spam Blackout automatically checks the dynamic Internet Blacklist databases (ORDB - Open Relay Databases) for the IP Addresses of known Spammers and prohibits contact with them. Spam Blackout queries the Blacklist databases in real-time.

White Text
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with White Text. Spammers put White text into HTML emails to confuse the Bayesian Analysis engine. The spammer colours the text white so that it will look white on a white background.
Invalid Tags
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with Invalid Tags. Tags like <> with text inside are treated as Spam. HTML emails should not contain <> tags.
Phishing
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with Phishing. Spammers can send emails displaying e.g. www.paypal.com, asking you to verify your bank account details.
Yet when you click on the link www.paypal.com, it may bring you to e.g. http://65.42.23.45@123.456/gotya.htm
Spam Blackout scans the message for unusual occurrences of e.g. numbers and @ signs in website addresses and treats them as Spam.
Emails asking you to verify account information are suspicious. Your Bank etc. will write to you for such verification, not email you.
External Image Links
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with External Images Links. Spammers can send emails with an external image link, this link may contain a code which can verify if you have clicked on this email. By clicking on the email you send them verification that your email address is valid and they will keep sending you more Spam.
<IFRAME>
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with <IFRAME>. IFRAME are Internal frames in a HTML page that create annoying Pop-ups on your screen and set in place hidden tracking devices.
HTML Comments
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with HTML Comments. Spammers use HTML comments to hide random words to confuse the Bayesian Analysis engine. Non-Spam emails don't usually contain comments.
Scripts
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with Scripts. Spammers embed scripts into HTML emails. Non-Spam emails don't usually contain scripts. Scripts can call pop-ups, Spyware, tracking devices etc.
Random Characters after HTML attributes
Spam Blackout gives you the option to SCAN & PROHIBIT HTML emails with Random Characters after HTML attributes. Spammers place random characters after the HTML to confuse the Bayesian Analysis Engine.
Regular Spam Expressions Filter
Spam Blackout allows you to enter regularly used Spam words and mark them as Spam. Emails with these words will be prohibited.
It scans the Email Header, Email Body, From, Subject or entire Email for these regularly used Spam words.
Bayesian Analysis Spam Filter
Spam Blackout calculates the probability of a message being spam based on its contents. It learns to differentiate Spam mail from non-Spam mail by analysing each email message.
Country Blocker
Spam Blackout allows you to ban email receipt from any country you want.
Option to Strip All HTML from Emails
Spam Blackout gives you the option strip All HTML from Emails. Hackers/Virus writers can embed code to trigger commands in HTML mail. This will protect you from any known attacks on HTML emails in one go.
Note: The normal email text will get through but any HTML will be stripped from it.
Option to Strip All Email Attachments from Emails
Spam Blackout gives you the option to prohibit receipt of all Email Attachments in one go.
Option to Strip All Dangerous HTML from Emails
Spam Blackout gives you the option of removing dangerous sections of HTML from Emails e.g. External Image Links, Scripts, <IFRAME>, HTML comments & random characters after HTML attributes, emails with white text, invalid tags, etc. in one go.
Note: The normal email text will get through but any Dangerous HTML will be stripped from it.
Email Attachments Spam Filter
Spam Blackout allows you specify whether particular attachments should be Deleted, Quarantined and/or Compressed. It comes with a built-in list of attachments. This will protect you from any known attacks on MIME emails used by viruses in order to spread themselves.
Note: Filters can be enabled/disabled and their execution order can be changed.

Spam Blackout will scan emails downloaded from Hotmail, POP3 and IMAP.
Spam is dealt with Securely
Spam Blackout places Spam securely in it's Spam Queue. While they remain in the Spam queue, they are held in encrypted form in the database.
If a legitimate email is classified as Spam, you can simply move it to the Non-Spam Folder, so that it is received into your Inbox.
Spam Blackout places Emails containing Viruses into Quarantine.
View Emails
Spam Blackout allows you to securely view the headers and raw message of all Emails.

Synchronise Clocks

Spam Blackout lets you decide how often you want to check the External Server for Emails. The default is 10 minutes.
Multiple Email Accounts
Spam Blackout can scan emails from an unlimited number of email accounts.
